Can You Afford That? and More

For those of you who did not see the Oprah show with Suzie Orman "Can You Afford That", you have another chance. The show is re-airing on Friday.

On another note, are you trying to lose those winter pound or pounds that you have gained over many winters? Well looking at Oprah's review of the past 6 years of The Biggest Loser one contestant has a wonderful way to lose weight, save money, and spend time with her children.

She works out at the playground with her son. Julie Hadden runs up the slide to raise her heart rate. Uses the ladder for the slide to do body dips and uses the monkey bars to get in some pull-ups and crunches.

This also teaches her family to be active, stay healthy, and have fun all at the same time. So use the public parks to have some fun, get in some exercise, and spend time with your family.

Some ways other ways to get exercise in, spend time with your family, and learn new things are:

Go for nature walks. Get a couple of books at the library and see what plants and animals you can find while taking walks. You can also take a History walk in your neighborhood. Find books at the library that talks about the history and then take a walk around to see the sites.

I live in the St. Louis area and there is plenty of history at the biggest park in the area Forest Park. You could spend a month there looking at the sites and learning history while exercising.

So what plans do you have to save money and spend time with your family this summer?
